Applications of artificial intelligence are found in the whole spectrum of medical care: from diagnosis and treatment to drug development and population health management. For example:

  • Diagnosis: probably the most known ability of AI is to identify patterns; AI can analyze large amounts of data, such as medical images or electronic health records, and predict diagnostic findings that can lead doctors to make certain diagnoses (this last part is still assigned to humans).

  • Treatment: AI can help doctors choose the most appropriate treatment for a patient based on their medical history by analyzing a patient's electronic health record to determine which medications are most likely to be effective and to identify potential side effects or interactions.

  • Drug development: new drug targets can be identified and the effectiveness of potential drugs can be predicted by analyzing data on the structure and function of complex chemical substances such as proteins.

  • Population health management: AI can help healthcare organizations identify trends and patterns in electronic health records or claims data, and the results of these analyzes could be helpful not only to seize the budgets of healthcare but also to identify groups of patients who are at risk for certain conditions.

What is this project about? 👀

This is a personal website created and maintained by Nikolay Pavlov.

On this website I am trying to create a collection of articles based on my own experiences as well as publications, open marketing materials, and other sources, on the topic of various types of artificial intelligence applied in the medical domains. This knowledge base includes:
